This is not surprising at all. I’ve seen it with my own family. Even though I’ve saved for them to have a vaccine and offered to book they have not bothered which means my grandchildren also are not getting boosted. My son is a HCP as is his partner and they don’t seem bothered. It is therefore more than 18 months since they were vaccinated. It is certainly linked to the lack of urgency from the Government and lack of communication. No one seems bothered any more!

I'm not surprised vaccine take up is low when our culture and politics minimises Covid so much. But there is some concern among the immunosuppressed (of which I am one) that the current range of vaccines is somewhat ineffective against new variants, which is also balanced against (anecdotally) people reporting more side-effects from recent vaccines. Plus we are all so, so tired.

I should have pointed out that immunosuppressed individuals may have a weaker immune response to Covid vaccines, which has played a role in vaccine hesitancy.

It should be a reminder for us all to continue taking appropriate precautions, like improving ventilation, whenever possible.
